FASHION PORTFOLIO
Throughout my high school career, I was fortunate to participate in a fashion class in my junior year where I created a few garments to show at the annual fashion show. I was able to hone my sewing and illustrating skills junior year and was doing this concurrently with pre-college classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Senior year the fashion class could not fit into my schedule, but I was still able to create garments on my own time to be showcased in the fashion show. My love for fashion design still exists in college, however, I knew I wanted to broaden my understanding of the fashion industry and decided to explore retail management and public relations. Upon clicking on the images below, you will be transported to my world of fashion design with the collections I organized and sewed. Enjoy!
SENIOR YEAR: The Golden Road
For my senior year of high school collection, the theme was an artist or movement of our choice. I decided to work with the art of Gustav Klimt, which allowed me to play around with metallic colors and fabrics. Each of the four garments was hand-sewn, including one that was constructed with gold jump rings and gold metal mesh.
JUNIOR YEAR: Eyes of the World
For my junior year of high school collection, the theme was the forces of nature. I chose to base my collection on the four elements: fire, air, water, and earth. The name of the collection was Eyes Of the World, a song by the Grateful Dead that I thought most fit my theme.
